Now I have to travel again. I register on November 2008 & Never get the webserver with my updated. I do check also the spam folder & I still don`t get it.
February 6th, 2009 at 5:33 am
This realy sucks , so they only update the new products. I will never buy a MIO again if this is the attitude of MIO. What about the people that supported and paid good money for they pervious products like MIO C510.
February 6th, 2009 at 5:35 am
Let me explain how to get you OLDER MIO upgraded with proper maps with 100% correct speed indications.
!!!!!! Buy a Garmin !!!!!!!
April 16th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
This is crazy – I bought a mio c520 last year figuring I’d have an update by now – and it seems as though they aren’t even offering an update for this product. That is complete nonsense and a great way to go bankrupt because I for one will never buy an Mio product for the rest of my life – and I buy quite a few electronic gadgets. Mio is a horrible company!
April 17th, 2009 at 12:19 am

I TOO PURCHASED A MIO 200 (IN NOV 2008) AN AM STILL WAITING ON MY FREE UPDATE. I EMAILED THEM LAST WEEK ASKING THEM TO FOLLOW UP ON THEIR PROMISE. NO RESPONSE. I ONLY CONTRACT I’VE HAD FROM THEM WAS THE INITIAL EMAILED CONFIRMING MY REGISTRATION. NOTHING SINCE. BETTER PULL YOUR SOCKS UP MIO OR YOU’LL BE DECLARING BANKRUPTCY TOO.

I was told i would receive a 2009 mio map update
on may 20, By e-mail, and as of yeat i have not
received it.
May 23rd, 2009 at 7:53 am
Received the April e-mail stating the update would be released May 20 2009. Yesterday (May 22 2009) I received this from Mio:
………………………………………….
Dear Valued Customer,
Last month we announced that the Mio Map Update download and DVD would be available May 20, 2009. Regrettably, there will be a delay as a result of technical issues. We are in the process of resolving these issues to ensure your experience is the best possible.
On Wednesday, May 26, we will send you an email with a firm date for the availability of the Mio Map Update (we expect it will be ready in approximately 3 weeks). We appreciate your patience and please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Regards,
The Mio North America Team
………………………………………….
So, it looks like it will be the end of June before we see anything.
June 8th, 2009 at 12:42 pm
I have a Mio C320, South Africa maps are totally out of date (2007), i have now realised I made a big mistake in purchasing it, which at the time was a great buy.
Garmin is the way to go people, well at least for their after sales support. I have it now installed on my Nokia 5800 XM with 2009 maps.
June 11th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
MIO C520 purchased in 2008. The package said there would be a free update. I received an email from MIO giving links to the update. Nothing works!! Although the email says nothing about which model the update is for it is obviously not for the C520. Spent half a day on the computer with a map update and links that were useless. Thanks MIO for Nothing!!! Never deal with this company, they are either frauds or incompetant!!
July 5th, 2009 at 6:07 am
When will be a free map update available?
July 5th, 2009 at 11:17 am
I’ve mio 220. Where can I find maps?
July 25th, 2009 at 3:05 pm
WHAT THE CRAP!!!!!!! This is proposterous! Listen world! NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, BUY A MIO. I drove from NB, Canada to AB, Canada and the stupid thing gave me wrong directions a DOZEN TIMES! On main highways that have been around for years. It took me right through the center of Thunder Bay instead of the highway that goes around it… an hour detour that would have been avoided if i had’ve just used a stupid map! Listen mio! Time for a stupid update for my 200c or things are gonna happen!
July 27th, 2009 at 10:05 am
I have C320b model which I bought on the 2nd of April, 2009. The maps seems to be outdated, how can I update it?
August 10th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
In Spain it is the same. They promised updates before July. They have NOTHING about updates. I thing it is a company drop.
August 12th, 2009 at 3:18 am
Do not trust this company. I am still waiting for updates to my Mio C520. I know I will never receive it, but I will have the last laugh because I will never buy their products again and will tell family and friends not to buy their products.
September 1st, 2009 at 7:00 am
You must have received a free update key to be able to install the maps.
September 7th, 2009 at 2:10 am
Yes people, never buy a MIO product,I too was told I will be able to get map updates.Never gonna happen{I have a 310c}They posted it on their web site…it has since been removed lol What a crap company. What good is a 300$ gps with maps that are so outdated you can’t find your way…..I tell everyone I know{and all my customers} to NOT buy a mio…I’ve told this to about 500 people.I will never buy another product this company makes as long as I live.
September 7th, 2009 at 5:09 pm
Bought and registered a Mio C510 at end 2008 on the understanding there would a free map upgrade at end of July 2009… Early september and still not a single word so far
Very poor performance – as others have said, it seems we should take our custom elsewhere when it is tome for us to purchase our next GPS units
Prospective Mio customers beware…
September 8th, 2009 at 6:52 pm
Need to register? Where?
What kind of information this post is?
Where I have to register?
My Mio makes a lot of navigation problem. Have to update!
September 10th, 2009 at 7:09 am
I have a 520C. No update available. MIO NEVER DELIVERS. A decent company would give out a free map upgrade along with apologies for past inaction.
There is a post yet again promissing an update for the 520C at the end of September. IT WON’T HAPPEN. Crush them this Christmas buy not buying their products. Be sure to spread the word.
September 11th, 2009 at 4:32 am
So does any one have an update on the Mio 200 map update? I was in a new area this week and the thing just went Berzerk as if I was on a football field! Please if anyone has some news, let us know! Thank you!
September 21st, 2009 at 2:55 pm
I’m glad to see others have trouble with Mio. I have a 500. I have been trying to get the update. The Product code they send me does not work. The have not returned my last to emails. When I went for on line help they disconnected the chat and would not resume it. I tried several times. After reading these comments I’m thinking “Class Action”.
September 26th, 2009 at 9:38 am
Dear Sir/Madame,In July 2007 I bought in Romania a GPS Mio C720 with all maps of Europe, East Europe included. Now I wish to update these maps. Please inform me how can I do this for free.
Best regards,
Petru
September 30th, 2009 at 4:27 am
I bought a mio 320 with good reviews from one of my friends. Most gps companies do automatic updates over the internet by simply hooking their gps to their computer. This is horrible that they do not have maps for my 320. The map is so outdated that I can’t really trust where it’s taking me anymore.
This company is horrible and I will NEVER buy another MIO product again!
October 3rd, 2009 at 8:53 am
Hi, I have a Mio 510E and have been looking to Mio for a map update. Three emails produced no reply from them. I telephoned in September 2009 and was promptly informed that they have no such product number! I persisted and the reply was that I should purchase a new device! I will, but it definatly will not be a Mio or Navman. What disgustingly poor product support.
October 10th, 2009 at 5:09 am
I will also never buy a Mio product again unless they enable me to buy a map upgrade for my C220. If they do not offer map upgrades, the value for money of this product is very poor. ANd I bought this assuming maps could be kept up to date, or I would never have bought it at all.
October 12th, 2009 at 9:12 am

I jushed purchased Mio Moov 300 with maps of Israel

October 16th, 2009 at 8:17 pm
I have a Mio C510 and have not been able to update since new. Very poor service from Mio.
I find product excellent and would like to upgrade maps rather than replace G.P.S.
Unfortunately MIO offer only a credit if you return your old G.P.S.
New product is available locally at cheaper price.
Get your act together MIO
October 23rd, 2009 at 1:59 am
I have a MIO C720 with outdated software (2007). I’ve been searching the net for days for an update and found nothing. Just phoned Tudor who have taken over mio in South Africa and the guy tells me ‘you probably going to want to shoot me, the update is only coming out end of next month (November 2009) and it will cost u R1100.00!!! Told him he can stuff his damn MIO i’ll rather take that money and buy a GARMIN and get FREE UPDATES FOR LIFE! MIO SUCKS!!! I am going to throw this piece of crap into the dustbin. Stay very far away from these THIEVES!! GARMIN HERE I COME
October 26th, 2009 at 11:24 am
I have a Mio Moo 300c and have the Canadian Map, however I need the US map do you where I can get this?
November 5th, 2009 at 6:43 am
we have all agreed that MIO have made false claims regarding updates, so now the question is, is there any legal action we can take collectivley. that way we may be able to force them to honour their contract ??
any lawyers out there want to help ?

November 18th, 2009 at 10:14 am
Hi,
I am from South Africa, and purchased a MIO C520 at the beginning of 2008 with November 2007 software and maps. Since then there has been no updates. Can you imagine if an overseas tourist with a Mio visits South Africa in 2010 for the football world cup. It is as good as owning a brick.
MIO is a CRAP company.
November 19th, 2009 at 11:37 am
Got a Mio C520 several years ago for B-day. Maps were 2 years old when I got it. Now they are over 4 years old, and still waiting for a map update. Can’t remember details about customer service other than I remember trying hard to get info outta them, with no results. MIO SUCKS. 10 million budget on marketing, 10,000 dollars on support. Companies like this need to go outta business. Check their support page for the map update, LOL, supposedly updated the page a month ago, saying they are still having technical issues, been that way for over 2 years now. Nice that you have time to make it look like it’s a new issue.
November 21st, 2009 at 12:36 am
Need C220 maps upgrade for Australia. Anyone knows a weblink that I can get upgrade for free?
Thanks, Tad
November 22nd, 2009 at 6:04 am
I’m very disappointed in the purchase of the mio c510. I’ve discouraged 100s of prospective customers to invest with GARMIN, and will continue to do so. The Garmin 200 is 100% better than the mio I own.
Mio, no service = unhappy customer = next purchase Garmin.
November 25th, 2009 at 9:38 am
Yeah, there is no point of buying Mio again and get lost a few months after you bought it because It won’t find the new addresses added on the map. Did you see how many new buildings and roads are out there every day? How does Mio expect people to not get lost if they don’t provide new maps? Not even for buying!
November 25th, 2009 at 1:15 pm
i have a mio bought at bureau en gros and promise me that they would up grade it but still waiting
November 29th, 2009 at 8:08 am
After being promised map updates for 1 year and trying and looking for these updates, I realize I am wasting my time.
December 5th, 2009 at 2:30 pm
I am from South Africa and purchased a Mio C510 in 2007. The map software was changed to Route 66 by the supplier and to date there is no updates available. This is the biggest load of rubbish I have ever bought and will definatley not support Mio again in the future. How many innocent people are being caught all over the world by Mio’s free updates for life.
December 8th, 2009 at 5:45 pm
I purchased a mio 500 in 2008 with the free 2009 U.S. upgrade. I was notified that it would be ready in May of 2009. I have not heard anything else from you. I would like to update my GPS Thank You
December 9th, 2009 at 8:33 am
I recently purchased this GPS for my wife who has been very reluctant to embrace the technology. After giving her a short tutorial and a drive around the block I set her off to her own devices. When see returned from a recent day of Doctors appointments, shopping and other errands, she commented on how easy it was to use to find addresses and stores. She also found the ability to used her phone basically hands free via blue tooth very helpful. I would buy this item again.
December 10th, 2009 at 2:06 pm
Wow I didn’t know the extent of how crappy MIO is. They are junk. It had points of interest for stores that have been in my area for many years but told me to travel 100+ miles instead. Also told me to turn into a corn field and away from an on ramp to get to where I needed to be on.
You get what you pay for. MIO outsources its updates to other providers, therefore they will always have poor support for older models if you think 1 year is old?!
December 16th, 2009 at 6:10 pm
To the employee of Mio, Victor M. you need to ask Obama for a hand out Mio needs to stop ripping people off and close up.
December 17th, 2009 at 9:08 am
Just registered my new MIO but I can’t find anywhere in their site to download free map updates! They only care to sell…
December 18th, 2009 at 12:12 am
I have a MIO Digi Walker ( C520)
I find it difficult to use. I definitely need an update. A lot of roadworks have taken place in Melbourne.
How do I get an upgrade.
December 19th, 2009 at 8:58 pm
Same problem, I bought a C520 a year ago. No updates available and half the time I’m driving in a field adjacent to the highway! Mio sucks, next time I’ll invest in Garmin quality product. Chances are, MIO will be bankrupt in a year or so anyway… be my guess!
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:13 pm
I have a amcor 3900 which need a map upgrade I recently found out that the mio and amcor share the same software . How much would it cost me to update the maps every year and where do I go to do so? Thank You. Wes
December 25th, 2009 at 1:52 pm
I bought a c520 a couple years ago and im wondering how i get the updates for the map?
December 29th, 2009 at 7:06 pm
I Purchased a Mio C320 It took them 0ver 12 months to send me a 2009 update, their excuse was that the software written in China was faulty. I eventually got it in March this year. Also the battery in the Mio C320 barley lasted 12 months and now to use it I have to leave it permanently on the car charger and cannot take it portable as the charge lasts less than 1/2 hr. Not impressed.
I am going back to Tom Tom.
January 1st, 2010 at 3:09 pm
i bought the knight rider gps over a year ago and still can’t find any updates for maps.
the mio website is very difficult to use and you can’t find anything you need on it.
January 6th, 2010 at 3:27 am
I bought a 520 a couple of years ago, there is new roads, new freeways, highways and new residential estates, all i would like to do would be able to find them with this piece of shit and its outdated maps which will never see the light of day !!!! I will not be buying another one of these ever again, and will tell all my fellow sales reps to do the same !!! I hope you go broke as your company deserves it !! Cheers mate !!!
January 8th, 2010 at 10:08 am
We bought a MIO 500 model last year. My husband has tried to update it (several attempts) but none worked. No update now (and one free update supposedly came with the purchase of it) AND now we have no life in it when it is disconnected from the power source in the car, not an OUNCE of life for more than handing it to someone in the car much less letting them help to punch in some coordinates into it! What does ONE LIKE US do for a battery to this sub-rate instrument?!
January 18th, 2010 at 7:28 am
I have tried calling Mio, noone is available to talk to (surprise, surprise), I can’t find the online chat on the website (if anyone knows where please tell me), and I finally called the Source where I bought it from (at a greatly discounted clearance price) and he said it’s the telltale sign of a company going bankrupt.
If I do find the online chat the person on the other end is going to get a f&*%ing mouthful.
I like the unit but a map update would be nice. If anyone gets anywhere with this please post.
January 19th, 2010 at 2:57 am
I too own a Mio C520, and recently sent an email to MIO support requesting where I could download a map update … check the reply !
” Good afternoon, Thank you for contacting the Mio team. Unfortunately, the Mio C520 is no longer supported for mapping data updates or overseas maps. Due to technological advances in mapping data over the past few years, Mio are unable to supply map upgrades for our older units. The size of the mapping data is too great to be handled by the older hardware and we are unable to release map upgrades for these units. Rather than release an inferior product to our customers, we made the decision to supply our customer’s with a chance to purchase a brand new unit for a discounted price with full warranty. As a result we are offering our valued customers a trade-in to a new device at a discounted rate off RRP. All trade-in details are available via the Mio Online store at: http://aus.mio-store.com/ “.
What a shocker and insult of a reply ! Having worked in the technology realms for 15 years and customer service for 20, this is a sure recipe for MIO’s demise. Who will trust them with future prodct releases ?
And they had the hide to send me a customer sat survey. Enough said.
I’ll spend my money elsewhere.
January 22nd, 2010 at 11:00 am
please get me the link,i wanna update my mio gaps
by 2008 by new version, ive been taring for long through net,but not yet, find, please telll me all steps please please
January 22nd, 2010 at 5:22 pm
I bought a mio,,2 years ago , Now I went to update it and now they want more money to do this update,If that is the case I will throw it out and get a good one , top of the line. and it wont be a mio,,And if I knew this when they sold this to me.I would not have bought this product. It should be by law, print’d on it that all updates cost more money.
January 22nd, 2010 at 5:37 pm
I think we all should talk to our congress men ,, and Senators ,, That this product is being sold with no warnings . That we have to pay for updates. When I bought this gps mio. I was told all the updates were free.It should have been posted on the box when it was sold.
